Sing With Us

Newton needs a choir! The chorus plays a huge role, appearing in 27 of the oratorio's 39 movements. Are you an experienced singer who values sacred choral/orchestral music? Do you have an interest in being part of this world-premiere event? Would you like to sing the line "On occasion, we behead the king"? If so, please review the chorale schedule and expectations below and register to sing.

Singer Expectations

​
 

  • Attendance: Singers are expected to attend rehearsals as scheduled below. Singers may request to miss up to 2 rehearsals. (TLDR: rehearsals are Monday evenings after Labor Day)
     

  • Dues: $30 to cover the cost of the music, rehearsal space, & accompanist. It's a steal!
     

  • Ability: Singers should be able to read music and learn new music quickly.
     

  • Private Testimony: There is no denominational restriction to sing in the chorus, but singers should be evangelical Christian believers who can sincerely affirm and celebrate John Newton's life and ministry and broadly agree with our basic​ doctrinal statement.
     

  • Public Presentation: We gently request undistracting hair colors and no medical masks.
